DragonForce - Firewind - Visions of Atlantis - Seven Spires - The Masquerade, Atlanta, GA - 4/10/2022

With European bands coming back to the USA after most COVID-19 restrictions had been lifted here, and not in their homes, we get crazy awesome bands dropping by Atlanta. With some weeks having 2 to 3 shows to cover (thought life!), we made our way to The Masquerade and their largest venue for an evening of high-octane Power/Symphonic Metal with a very stacked tour package.

Leprous - The Ocean - Terminal West, Atlanta, GA - 3/16/2022

It has been more than two years since we had attended a show at home, in Atlanta, Georgia, so we were quite excited to have The Ocean and Leprous mark this momentous occasion. As one of Atlanta's smaller venues, Terminal West is a cozy place for intimate shows, and the perfect stage for The Ocean’s wall of sound and Leprous crafty and emotional performances.

Cult of Luna - Emma Ruth Rundle - Intronaut - 2/28/2020 - The Masquerade - Atlanta, GA

Finally! The season of North American tours is getting into gear and we are lucky to have Sweden’s Cult of Luna stop by The Masquerade to give one of their high intensity shows. We are big fans of the band and have seen them on big stages in Europe, so it is great to see them on a ‘small stage’. Paired with Emma Ruth Rundle and Intronaut, the lineup is quite solid for a good evening of music.

King Diamond - Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats - Idle Hands - 11/4/2019 - The Tabernacle - Atlanta, GA

Halloween might have passed, but every King Diamond live show we have attended in the past feels a bit like Halloween. With plenty of people dressed up for the occasion, the King dropped by Atlanta a couple of days ago with his new tour promoting his up-coming release “The Institute”. With huge expectations for this release, we made our way downtown for the show on a Monday night.

Obituary - Abbath - Midnight - 10/25/2019 - Buckhead Theater - Atlanta, GA

When it rains it pours, the best way to describe wet weather in Atlanta and also the ‘season of shows’ as we had 10+ shows in the span of 3 weeks. While most shows are in downtown Atlanta, there are some shows that make it over to the posh area of Buckhead at the super nice venue Buckhead Theater. Lucky for us, Obituary, Abbath, Midnight and Devil Master chose these nice diggs for the end of their tour show. Sadly we missed the first band thanks to crappy traffic, but we will catch them soon at Levitation in Austin, Texas.

Delain - Amorphis - Anneke van Giersbergen - 10/20/2019 - The Masquerade - Atlanta, GA

Announced nearly a year in advance, a tour package with Delain, Amorphis AND Anneke van Giersbergen sounded (and was) the best tour for 2019. We are huge fans of all musicians involved and were quite psyched to see them visit our home town of Atlanta.

Oranssi Pazuzu - Insect Ark - Dead Register - 10/19/2019 - 529 - Atlanta, GA

After missing most of Oranssi Pazuzu’s legendary 2017 Roadburn set thanks to the venue being packed to the brim, we only managed to hear a few songs from all the way to the back of the venue. Making sure this experience will not repeat itself, we were quite pumped to have this Finnish outfit play our hometown of Atlanta at a very cozy venue.

Amon Amarth - Arch Enemy - At the Gates - Atlanta, GA - 10/16/2019

Coming to town after unleashing their latest killer release “Berserker”, Amon Amarth always puts on one hell of a show. Headlining their own tour on bigger venues and with opening acts such as Arch Enemy, At the Gates and Grand Magus, October 16th was set to be a night to remember.

Sabaton - HammerFall - Center Stage, Atlanta, GA - 10/6/2019

After unleashing their latest opus "The Great War" over the summer, we had been completely psyched to see the band live with their killer live energy and stage antics. Paired up with Sweden's HammerFall, this is definitely THE Power Metal tour of the year.

With the Atlanta show sold out for months, we made our way to the excellent venue: Center Stage, for a few hours of killer music. Surprisingly enough the venue was completely packed since the doors opened and people were psyched for the HammerFall opening the night.
