    Dirk Diggler - Dirk Diggler (2010)

    Hailing from Israel today we have a very perky porno-grind band called “Dirk Diggler”. While we are not huge fans of gridcore in general, we can recognize when a band is pretty good at creating chaos and decadence with their music and Dirk Diggler excels at this.

    Featuring the traditional porn samples, Dirk Diggler blows in your face 14 tracks of crushing gridcore that can be compared to Pig Destroyer, Anal Cunt and similar bands. Track after track the band provides a hefty amount of riffs and bestial vocals to please the most ‘demanding’ fans of the genre.

    Brutally Deceased – Dead Lovers’ Guide (2010)

    Hailing from the Czech Republic, today we have the neck-breaking music of Brutally Deceased and their debut full-length release “Dead Lovers’ Guide”. Many new bands attempt to play ‘old-school’ Swedish Death Metal but fail miserably, however Brutally Deceased excels in this department very nicely and created 33 minutes of retro-DM that fans of the genre will love.

    With a very solid production, “Dead Lovers’ Guide” will drill your ears for nine very catchy tracks. The band’s music has just the right feeling to believe you are back in the early days of Grave, Dismember, Morgoth, but has the 2010 studio clarity.

    Macabre – Grim Scary Tales (2011)

    The masters of deranged music and sick and twisted lyrical content are back with their first full-length release in eight years. “Grim Scary Tales” is consisted of 14 tracks, each referring to a killer and their atrocities, which make for 50 minutes of very interesting tracks that vary between Death Metal, Grindcore, Technical DM, and overall madness.

    With the opening track “Locusta”, Corporate Death and Nefarious deliver a brutal two prong bass guitar and lead guitar attack that will render the listener unconscious due to the high intensity of the song. Moving over we have the completely insane “Nero’s Inferno”, a piece that sounds straight out of a circus formed by psych patients.

    Belphegor – Blood Magick Necromance (2011)

    On Belphegor’s 9th full-length studio release we found a very interesting dilemma, this album sounds crushing and in the same vein as the last few albums of the band, but yet we seem to be falling asleep while listening to it. While the band sounds as good as ever, we think that there is a big chunk of soul missing in this release.

    “Blood Magick Necromance” features another 40 minutes of Blephegor’s brutality and technical proficiency in the shape of devilish compositions that will rattle Christian souls, but it also lacks the raw energy and power they used to have in their earlier days. We have to agree that the album is not bad, but it’s by far one of the best of the band, since it seems like 70% filler and 30% ‘good shit’ only.

    Nidingr – Wolf Father (2011)

    Underground Black Metal outfit Nidingr is ready to come out of their caves and blow people away with their second full-length release “Wolf Father”. Featuring Black Metal ‘super stars’ Teloch (ex-Gorgoroth, etc) and Blargh (Dødheimsgard) handling the guitars, Hellhammer (Mayhem, Arcturus, etc) on drums, and some dude nicknamed Cpt. Estrella Grasa on vocals.

    With such an impressive line-up of musicians, “Wolf Father’ plays out to be an excellent release that features the Scandinavian way of making Black Metal with some Death Metal influences. Each song is crafted around super tight drumming and intricate guitar riffing allowing Nidingr to sound cold and harsh, but still clear enough to distinguish every detail in the music.

    Corrosive Carcass – Rot.In.Pieces (2010)

    Hailing from Sweden, today we have a very catchy demo from Corrosive Carcass and their old-school Swedish Death Metal. In “Rot.In.Pieces” this relatively new band gives us 7 tracks totaling 18 minutes of neck breaking old-school Death Metal. While the production is a bit on the ‘raw’ side of things, the overall sound of the band will take you back in time quite a few years.

    Having a raw and gritty sound actually helps Corrosive Carcass get the old-school vibe going for most of the duration of this very effective demo. Most songs are under 3 minutes and feature a hefty amount of catchy riffs, tight drumming and somewhat standard growls and screams.

    Pyscho – Pain Addict Pigs (2010)

    Catchy old-school ‘horror’ Metal seems to be the game plan for Singapore’s Pyscho. In their full-length “Pain Addict Pigs”, the band showcases their old-school chops in crafting Death/Black/Thrash Metal tunes with the vibrant horror movies influences that made so many bands in the past iconic to the scene.

    Featuring a very diverse combination of genres, Pyscho takes on a trip down on memory lane with their old-school approach to Death/Black/Thrash Metal, but using ‘newer’ movies for their lyrical content. For 9 tracks, the band does a great job crafting catchy and mosh-worthy songs that will get high replay value in your music playlist.

    Gravewürm - Blood of the Pentagram (2010)

    Legendary USBM act Gravewürm have returned with their 7th full-length release titled “Blood of the Pentagram”. In this album the band continues to create their very disturbing sound by combining raw Black Metal elements with Thrash/Doom/Death Metal influences that give the band’s sound a little edge over the rest of the average sounding BM bands these days.

    However, not everything is enjoyable in “Blood of the Pentagram” since this release tends to get a bit too simplistic and repetitive in nature. The band exploits the raw and lo-fi approach to things and creates a very creepy sound, but it fails to deliver when the music tends to get boring and super repetitive.

    Manias/Sale Sangre – Blood Covered (2010)

    As one of the most brutal albums we have received in quite a while, today we have Manias (a.k.a Sale Sangre) third full-length “Blood Covered”. Hailing from Albuquerque, the place of birth of Infernal Masquerade Webzine, this band plays conventional Death Metal / Grind with a vengeance and an eye for blood and guts, as well can see from the artwork of the CD.

    Filled with the traditional witty movie samples, “Blood Covered” features 19 tracks of pure brutality. Let it be clear that Manias it’s not all about barking at the microphone and pounding randomly at their instruments, they can actually craft pretty catchy and crushing songs that will surely be a delight for fans of both Death Metal and Grindcore.

    Feu Gregeois - Mortis Regnum – 2nd Circle (2010)

    All the way from France, today we have Feu Gregeois debut album “Mortis Regnum – 2nd Circle”. Featuring an interesting combination of lush keyboard arrangements and traditional Death/Black Metal elements, this release marks for a very unpredictable and interesting approach to the genres.

    With five instrumental pieces in this 38 minute release we are treated to a mix bag of emotions, but left very pleased with the final result. Some people might say that some of this songs are nothing but filler pieces, but they somehow manage to nicely separate the album’s ‘brutal’ tracks and keep things in perspective allowing “Mortis Regnum” to flow in a very unconventional manner.
