Dissimulator - Artifice Dissolves (2026)

Hailing from Canada, today we have high-octane Technical Death/Thrash Metal trio Dissimulator with their sophomore release “Artifice Dissolves”. Featuring nine tracks and around 45-minutes of music, this outfit perfectly balances technicality with melody and catchiness, creating a very engaging release filled with memorable moments. For fans of bands like Miscreance, Revocation and Voivod, this release is as intense and it is expertly crafted.

Blasting away with crafty drumming and vicious riffing, “Apophenic Rage” opens this release with panache. Rolling through “Hungry Ghosts”, “Alloyed”, and “Proprioceptor”, we start to identify the band’s signature style, perfectly infusing Thrash-elements to Death Metal core elements, all while being extremely proficient in their instruments and masterful when composing intricate tempo changes and transitions.

After a more experimental and even shredd-tastic instrumental “Dusk”, the album gets vicious on its final stretch with “Neon Metropolis” giving us some Dark Angle/Destruction vibes. While “Anodyne” has more of a technical edge filled with interesting and crafty guitar/bass guitar parts alongside mesmerizing drumming. Closing with “Robostrobos”, a track that brings everything together, the band leaves on a high note as this song showcases their insane talent and clean execution skills.

Overall, “Artifice Dissolves” showcases a very promising and yet polished “young” band. All members excel at their instruments, and this is not a surprise as they are part of outfits like Chthe'ilist, Atramentus, Beyond Creating, allowing them to master a wide range of styles. The tracks in this release are extremely well crafted to not get boring or repetitive as the band has all kinds of tricks under their sleeve to keep things engaging and varied. If you are looking for something fast, something technical, and something very polished and fun, do not miss out on this release.
