Leaves’ Eyes - Song of Darkness (2026)

Returning with a short but excellent EP, today we have Leaves’ Eyes with “Song of Darkness”. Featuring four tracks and over 16 minutes of lush music, this release shows the band further refining their Symphonic Metal powers. Filled with expertly crafted songs full of dramatic vocal arrangements and magical atmospherics, this release is as explosive and majestic as anybody would expect from this veteran outfit.

Opening with the complete banger “Song of Darkness”, we get Elina Siirala shining, by carrying this song with her very catchy and melancholic vocals, perfectly paired with restrained guitars and crafty drums. The sometimes subtle but always present atmospherics make tracks like the opener and “Hall of the Brave”, have that Viking/Folky edge that the band’s brand of Symphonic Metal have perfected over the years.

The explosive “Until the Last Day” has that epic vibe that the band is known for, with a hefty mixture of harsh male vocals alongside very dramatic female leads and crafty riffs. Closing with the cinematic “Roost Eternal”, Leaves’ Eyes has managed to pack a big punch in this EP, satisfying their fans while keeping them with bigger expectations for the future. If you are a fan of the genre and the band, this is yet another must have release from their discography.
