Unleashing frosty and fierce old-school Black Metal onslaughts, today we have Switzerland's Ernet and their fourth full-length release “Der schwarzen Flamme Vermächtnis”. With a very ravagaging and punishing style, this duo delivers over 36 minutes of harsh music that brings back some of the late 90’s Scandinavian harshness with updated production values.

Opening with the blistering “Warrior of the Black Flame”, the band sets off with a very primal and raw Black Metal core that reminds us of early Immortal/Satyricon. Aside from the fierce riffing and crafty tempo shuffling, the band also introduces some atmospheric elements that keep tracks dynamic and varied, like on “Lucifer”, the ritualistic clean female vocals of “Lord Of Ascending Flame” and the folkiness of “Wo sie wandelt”.

The fierce melodic onslaughts of tracks like “To Ashes” and the Black’n’roll attitude of “Ritval Pyre” round up the band’s wide variety of influences and make up for a very engaging and dynamic release. As a whole, “Der schwarzen Flamme Vermächtnis” is one of those harsh and yet quite varied Black Metal releases that brings back some old-school nostalgia, while still bringing something different to the table, enabling Ernte to stand out from a crowded scene.
