Allowing us to compensate for the huge FOMO we had for missing Therion’s orchestral shows in Mexico city back in 2024, Napalm Records is set to unleash a massive 2 hour Bluray/DVD/2CD version of this amazing show. No need for any introduction when it comes to the legendary Therion and their highly theatrical and engaging Symphonic Metal compositions. In this release we can feel the energy of the crowd and the elegance of the band’s classical arrangements come to life.

The first thing that anybody would identify is that the audio mix in this release is stunning. Being very well balanced, it allows all aspects, the crowd, the voices, the orchestra, the Metal side of the band to perfectly come across and sound magical when tracks like “The Birth of Venus Illegitima”, “Asgard”, “Siren of the Woods”, “Lemuria”, and the epic “To Mega Therion” come around. The second thing of notice is the magical interplay between the vocals of Lori Lewis, Thomas Vikstrom and Rosalía Sairem, works just wonders in the live setting and brings these songs to life.

With the superbly long trajectory of the band, and their plethora of excellent releases, the setlist might leave some people upset that their favorite song is missing, but they have done a great job to capture their discography. Overall, we think the song selection was top notch and flows very well. While we review and rave about the audio, we haven’t received our personal copy to talk much about the video side of this release. However, looking at some of the clips they have released, it looks pretty solid. In general, this is a magical addition to the band’s extensive discography of live and studio releases and captures one of their most epic, recent concerts to date.
