Teramaze - Eli - A Wonderful Fall from Grace (2024)

Hailing from Australia, today we have Progressive Metal juggernauts “Teramaze” and their latest opus “Eli - A Wonderful Fall from Grace”. Featuring eight tracks and over 55 minutes of music, this release is highly polished and engaging, showcasing the band’s evolution over the years and abilities to craft superbly catchy and engaging tracks. While some might not like the band’s lyrical themes, the music is superb and definitely worth a listen for fans of the genre.

After a mood setting intro, “The Will of Eli” quickly showcases the band’s strengths and delivers moody tempo changes and soaring vocals. The band’s pandemic productivity helped them refine their sound and tracks like “Step Right Up”, “I Mantissa”, and “Madam Roma” are perfect examples of the polish and flair that makes them standout. Being crafty keyboard solos or epic guitar leads, songs like “Standing Ovation” and “Hands are Tied” provide all kinds of excitement and discovery for the listener.

Saving the most cinematic and epic song for last, “A Wonderful Fall From Grace” nicely closes this release with waves of engaging musicianship and soaring melodies. Teramaze is definitely an excellent band that can certainly write some impressive songs and “Eli - A Wonderful Fall from Grace” is a testament to that. So, if you are a fan of the genre and haven’t heard these guys, you are in for a surprise with this release.
