Rockstadt Extreme Fest 2026 - Intro

We have visited the country several times and have attended festivals there, like the excellent Dark Bombastic Evening in Alba Iulia, Romania, and have visited places like Bran Castle and Peleș Castle. Both of which you can’t miss out on.

With major headliners and high-profile names like Sabaton, Godsmack, Lamb of God, Helloween, The Prodigy, Marilyn Manson, In Flames, Arch Enemy, Black Label Society, Amorphis, Satyricon, Airbourne, The Gathering, Carcass, and Decapitated, this festival has a lot of the bands that the bigger festivals have, but in a smaller and more intimate setting.

You’ve heard all the stories and legends around this area; it is your time to witness them in person. With the festival now listed in Ghimbav, right by Brașov, you are still in a great area for exploring Transylvania, doing half-day trips to major attractions, or simply enjoying the mountain scenery before the chaos of the festival starts.

Some of the major festivals are getting a bit too expensive for our taste, while this is to be expected with the rising costs of organizing events and general inflation. However, in countries like Romania and the Czech Republic, your beer and food budget usually lasts more, and the overall trip can still feel more manageable than some of the giant Western European festivals.

Over the years we have been attending festivals all over the world, and while it is cool to visit Wacken and the promised land, there are countless other events, like this one, that offer similar line-ups in a completely different setting. Exploring the world while enjoying dozens of bands is a great way to spend your holidays.
