With so many genres bleeding into each other, and us not being huge fans of 'traditional Doom', we present our top Doom-ish releases that include Death-Doom, Atmospheric Doom, and some more exotic variants. Other good albums we did not review but are worth mentioning are: My Dying Bride "Feel the Misery" and Swallo the Sun "Songs From the North "
10. Luna – On the Other Side of Life (2015) Two excellent and looooong tracks filled with atmosphere and powerful riffs, if it had some vocals it would be higher on our list. |
9. Red Moon Architect – Fall (2015) With a complete line-up, Red Moon Architect is now better than ever. |
8. Enshine – Singularity (2015) Pretty solid Death/Doom with many Melodic Death Metal elements from this two-man outfit from Finland. |
7. Monolithe – Epsilon Aurigae (2015) Sneaky French outfit delivers crushing Doom soundscapes. |
6. Weeping Silence – Opus IV Oblivion (2015) Taking us by surprsie, this outfit delivers very fragile tunes that intoxicate the listener. |
5. Secrets of the Sky – Pathway (2015) Local Bay Area outfit with a very unique style that is strating to gain well-deserved traction world wide. |
4. Draconian – Sovran (2015) New vocalist and the same melodramatic atmosphere equals another brilliant Draconian release. |
3. Dead to a Dying World – Litany (2015). Perfect blend of genres resulting in one of the most disarming and crushing releases of 2015. |
2. Thurisaz – The Pulse of Mourning (2015) The masters of atmospheric beauty return with yet another mesmerizing release. |
1. Skepticism – Ordeal (2015) Hand down the most crushing Death/Doom release of 2015. |
