Heimland - Tronearvingens doed (2024)

cover

Hailing from Norway, today we have Heimland and their 7” release “Tronearvingens doed”. As a teaser after their 2023 release “Forfedrenes taarer”, this 2 song release continues to show the bands fierce Norwegian Black Metal style. With a very uncompromising and raw sound, this outfit demonstrates they are the real deal and should be kept on any BM connoisseur radar.

Side A features a six minute onslaught under the release title name that dabbles in cursty old-school Norwegian Black Metal territories with an emphasis of blistering drumming and punishing riffs. The vocals are quite typical for this kind of release and nicely frame the band’s exploits. The second side features “Grepen Av Moerkets Haand” and its buzzy guitars with a slower and more sinister pace, reminiscent of early Satyricon.

As a whole, “Tronearvingens doed” is a solid Norwegian Black Metal release that should be in the collection of any purist of the genre. Thanks to a clean and crisp production, this release is powerful and ready to be enjoyed at full volume without the concern of it popping your speakers. We can’t wait for the next full-length release from this outfit.
