Midnight - Let There Be Witchery (2022)

Building up momentum, ravaging tracks like “Frothing Foulness”, “In Sinful Secrecy”, and “Nocturnal Molestation”, perfectly transmit that sleazy old-school vibe that the Athenar masterfully crafts thanks to the stripped-down sound and funky lyrics.

We love piercing guitar leads and tracks like “More Torment” and “Let There Be Sodomy” deliver them in droves, creating a very wild and epic feeling, immediately bringing images of the classical shredding of the early days of Metal. Showing a more melodic side, “Devil Virgin” has to be our favorite track in this release thanks to its relentless waves of riffs and tight drumming.

The fun never ends with this release, as heavy hitting pieces like the hilarious “Villainy Wretched Villainy” and the balls-to-the-wall attitude of “Szex Witchery” perfectly close this album. As you have read, Midnight is one of those very unique bands that is so full of energy and ideas that you never get tired of their antics.
