Top Black Metal Albums of 2019

We have to say that 2019 was the year of Black Metal for us, not only did we reviewed the most albums of this genre, but we also found the progress made in the scene quite amazing. These are our favorite releases of the year.

Honorable Mention: Nordjevel - Necrogenesis (2019)

Visceral Black Metal from Norway, this outfit keeps getting better and better with no signs of slowing down.

Honorable Mention: Misþyrming - Algleymi (2019)

Iceland’s most dominating band showed great maturity and added unique elements to their already punishing style.

Honorable Mention: Asagraum - Dawn of Infinite Fire (2019)

Dutch outfit delivered one of the most savage and intense releases of 2019, the future looks very bright for this band.

10. Imperium Dekadenz - When We Are Forgotten (2019)

Catchy and powerful are the best two words to describe this excellent release.

9. Mgła - Age of Excuse (2019)

Brutality with great finesse is this Polish band’s specialty. One of the most engaging and well crafted releases of the genre.

8. Aegrus - In Manus Satanas (2019)

Crushing speed and relentless brutality as what makes “In Manus Satanas” one of the most pummeling releases of 2019.

7. Djevel - Ormer til armer, maane til hode (2019)

Norwegian Black Metal done right without any pretentiousness and direct to the point.

6. Ossuaire - Derniers Chants (2019)

Hailing from Canada, this outfit not only delivered one crushing release in 2019, they managed to deliver two brutal albums.

5. Tragediens Trone - Tragediens Trone (2019)

Osmose Productions is back unleashing some of the most promising and brutal BM acts, like Tragediens Trone’s self-titled release.

4. Avslut - Tyranni (2019

Swedish Avslut proved that their strong debut release was not a fluke with the even more vicious "Tyranni".

3. Bethlehem - Lebe dich leer (2019)

Featuring their strongest line-up after recruiting Onielar, Bethlehem delivered one of their most savage and crushing releases up to date.

2. The Deathtrip - Demon Solar Totem (2019)

Weird and creepy is the best way for a Black Metal release to be. Kvhost and company excelled at creating one of the most unique and yet raw and visceral releases of 2019.

1. Blut Aus Nord - Hallucinogen (2019)

French visionaries Blut Aus Nord manage to completely mesmerize their audience with their most futuristic and Sci-Fi-ish release to date. If there is one BM album you will buy in 2019, it must be this one.
