Top 5 Post-Metal Albums of 2017

With many bands playing Post-Metal (and its variants) in the last few years, it was quite hard to narrow this list down. Tons of great releases, but our top albums present the definite best from 2017. Note that this list is missing any Post-BM albums, which are compiled in a separate top of 2017 page.

Honorable Mention Telepathy - Tempest (2017)

Definitely one of the most interesting and experimental Post-Metal releases of 2017. Worth checking out and keeping an eye out for this band in the future.

5. Allochiria - Throes (2016)

Far away from being a copycat band, Allochiria proposes interesting additions to the genre in this very create release.

4. Përl – Luminance (2017)

Filled with raw emotions and crushing madness, this release is quite a treat. If you like weird Post-Metal stuff that is out of your comfort zone, this album will push your boundaries.

3. Glare of the Sun - Soil (2017)

Unleashed early in 2017, this release continued to find it's way to our playlist throughout the year. Perfect combination of atmosphere, Doom elements, and Post-Metal roots, deliver an intense release.

2. When Icarus Falls – Resilience (2017)

We have been following this Swiss outfit since their debut release, and they just keep getting better and better. Definitely a highlight if you like crushing riffs and punishing tempo changes.

1. Amenra - Mass VI (2017)

There is nothing more punishing and crushing in 2017 than this album... enough said!
