Beissert – The Pusher (2010)

cover

Coming from Agonia records in late May we have Beissert’s sophomore release called “The Pusher”. Never knowing what to expect from this label we ventured into discovering what Beissert was all about, and we love it, the band combines influences from Crowbar, Pantera, Nevermore and tons of other bands in a rocking way that will leave you speechless.

Beissert is probably one of the freshest sounding bands that we have heard in quite a while. After several listens to this album, the melodies behind the songs are stuck in our heads, something that does not happen quite often. The band has a very groovy and bombastic rocking sound that will have you headbanging from start to end.

The influences behind the band’s riffing is very diverse, having some killer Trash riffs followed by Sludge crunchiness, bizarre and yet brilliant. The songs in “The Pusher” are a mixture of German and English language track, making this a bizarre switch of languages through the album, just adding more weirdness to Beissert.

“The Pusher” is one of those albums that will just weird you out at first, but that will grow on you with every single time that you play it. We are not saying is bad, we are just saying that the musical combination of this band is very unique and you will not be 100% with all songs on the first spin.

The vocals on “The Pusher” are just exactly as the riffing and overall sound: they are extremely diverse and work perfectly with every song. The band has crafted 12 tracks of demented brilliance, and what better than to use the perfect vocal melody for each, something that Mr. Beissert himself is more than capable of doing.

In general, “The Pusher” is one of the most diverse releases we have ever encountered and will surely blow you away since the first minute. If you like ANYTHING that has metal in its genre definition, then you will greatly enjoy Beissert’s latest release.
