Nocturnal Fear - Metal Of Honor (2009)

cover

One year has gone by since the release of "Code Of Violence" and Nocturnal Fear is back with their fast paced Death/Trash Metal. This American outfit waste no time in blowing us away after an intro track and it never lets go.

"Metal Of Honor" is in my opinion the band's best album out of their four full length releases. Their mixture of Death and Trash Metal has reached new levels with in this album; the mixture of modern American Trash with 80's influenced Trash (Kreator, Possessed, etc) creates a very intense sounding release.

The thing that grabbed me since the first spin I gave this CD was the impressive drumming boosted by an excellent production. Aggressor excels in front of his drum kit and single handedly makes this release very notable. Sounding like a machine gun during an epic battle, I've rarely heard anything this brutal on a Death/Trash Metal album.

Guitar wise "Metal Of Honor" features a wide variety of catchy riffs that will please even the most demanding fans of the genre, the band is experienced enough to create plenty of melodies in their songs without sounding extremely repetitive. The vocals are very old school, sounding like the ones in Kreator and Sodom.

Overall "Metal Of Honor" is a great improvement over "Code Of Violence", this album will surely help Nocturnal Fear in their path of becoming one of the best modern American Trash Metal bands.
