Die Hard – Nihilistic Vision (2009)

cover

Die Hard is newcomer band to Trash Metal, and their debut “Nihilistic Vision” is a pretty solid debut full length that will surely please fans of the genre, but in my opinion it’s missing something to make them even better, and hopefully they manage to find this in time for their next album.

With the current Trash Metal revival, I can’t think of a better time for this band to have released this album. Agonia Records must get a nod for perfectly timing the release of this album, especially when there are some many lackluster attempts at creating something as old school as this.

Featuring the drummer from Black Metal juggernauts Watain, the band’s musical abilities are clearly showcased since they manage to create very catchy Trash riffs that remind me somewhat of Sepultura’s “Morbid Visions” album. All through the album the band creates plenty of riffs that are very good and well utilized in the songs to create that old school feeling, and when they are accompanied by the vocals they literally take you back in time.

While I’m not the biggest fan of the genre, I must say that this release does a great job in creating the old school Trash sound and overall feeling. If this band keeps working on their style they will surely be one of the leaders of this current ‘Trash Revival’ trend.
