Bleeding Fist – Bestial Kruzifiz666ion (2009)

With the moniker of “True Slovenian Black Metal” stamped on the CD I figured this band would play something a little more… organized. While the brutality and speed is undeniable in this release, sometimes it just feels that they are just banging at their instruments with no coherence behind them.

That being said, there are plenty of ‘trashy’ sounding BM riffs here and the intensity of the guitars is pretty good. The drumming is very bestial and sounds like a demon with 4 arms and 4 legs is playing the drums at some points, it’s also sometimes very random sounding and it makes me wonder if they can play the same song twice without making a mistake.

The vocals are very harsh and give the right amounts of energy to the whirlwind of energy created by the music. The occasional breakdowns in the music give a little hint of melody here and there, and sound very good, how ever they are not enough to save this release from total chaos.

Bleeding First self-proclaim themselves (also) to play “Chaos Black Metal”, and they are not far from this at all, but I still like my music to be more like…music. When the band slows down from their 10,000 bpm speed, they actually have very catchy and interesting elements and their sound is very good like in the track “Celebration Of The Third”, but in other occasions it just sounds plain bad.

I like most of the bands at Moribund Records, except for Archgoat and Bleeding Fist, since their musical style is similar and very dirty in my opinion.

I must say that if you like your music to be chaotic and very ‘brutal’ then “Bestial Kruzifiz666ion” is the perfect album for you, and it will never leave your CD player. However if you like something a bit more refined, then stay away from this album since the sound is very chaotic and dirty.
