Intronaut + Enslaved + Between the Buried And Me - 11/28/2015 - The Regency - San Francisco, CA

Being huge fans of Enslaved, we drove all the way back from Las Vegas after Thanksgiving for this show. Fresh of a nine hour drive, the bands did a great job in getting the crowd going and headbanging for the whole show.

Arriving late we missed the opening band Native Construct, but we will surely catch them on their next visit to the Bay Area. The first band we saw was Intronaut and their crafty Progressive Post-Metal. Delivering a pretty solid set of songs, the band seemed out of it and very static, didn’t really getting people in the mood for their music. It seems like the band had some technical issues and this might have caused their set to be lukewarm at best.

Having seen Enslaved over 10 times, we are constantly impressed by their high energy and perfect musical execution on stage. Supporting their latest opus “In Times”, the band delivered quite an unconventional set list playing only one track of their latest album (“Building with Fire”) and focusing more on older stuff. Playing for around an hour, the band did a great job in turning people on and had a pretty impressive mosh pit going during some of their songs. Definitely a great performance and quite an improvement over the previous band.

Headlining in support of their amazing “Coma Ecliptic” release, Between the Buried and Me took the stage for over 80 minutes. Delivering their intricate music nearly flawlessly, the band does an excellent job in setting the mood with a very engaging lightshow and with all band members fully engaging with the crowd.
