Bradley Tatum – It’s a Beautiful World (2011)

cover

Arriving from the Grunge capital of the world: Seattle, WA, today we have Bradley Tatum’s “It’s a Beautiful World” release. Featuring an ensemble of 13 tracks that range from Electro Punk to Gothic Rock, this release has at least something for everybody into any of these genres. We particularly enjoyed the catchy beats and the deep Gothic-sounding vocals.

First off, the production of this release is probably not the best, but it gives that extra originally and rawness to the material that one would get by listening to Bradley Tatum perform live at some open-mic night. With a high catchiness factor, the trippy Electro opener “Under the Storm Clouds” features nice vocal effects and solid distorted guitars. Not letting things get dull, Bradley Tatum delivers very different compositions in the following tracks “The Others”, “The Human Experiment” and “It’s a Beautiful World”.

The keyboards/synths in this release are pretty creative and nicely create an interesting atmosphere in each track. The drumming sometimes sounds extremely fake, but most of the time has the typical Punk sound, and we dig it in this context. Other songs are very dark and trippy in nature like our favorite “Let’s Think This Through”. “Raiders” features a heavier Metal foundation making it quite a standout in this release and showcases the abilities of Bradley Tatum to craft songs in many different styles.

With a bit for everybody, “It’s a Beautiful World” is very different release to what we are used to here at Infernal Masquerade and this is probably why we enjoyed it more than we expected. The man is obviously talented, but some instruments would be better executed when handed to somebody else with bigger expertise in the area (like the percussions). If you are in the market for something catchy, dark and with heavy guitars, “It’s a Beautiful World” will surely be of your liking.
