OvO – Cor Cordium (2011)

cover

Leading our monthly pile of ‘WFT?’ releases today we have Italian OvO and their sixth full-length ‘album’ named “Cor Cordium”. If you are one of those snobs that likes a bunch of random shit put together connected through some sort of ‘theme’ and pretends to fully ‘get it’, then you will love this release. For us, normal Metal (and some Experimental/Avant-garde stuff) this is exactly what “Cor Cordium” is: a bunch of random shit put together.

While we do have to admit that this album is very ‘original’, since there is most likely nothing like this… ever. We have a hard time picturing the band playing all of these random noises in the same order and sounding the same, ever again. These types of bands have a very superior level of art that we ‘normal folk’ (insert redneck accent) just don’t get.

For 10 tracks, OvO goes and explores bits and pieces of Doom Metal, Jazz, Noise and heaps of other stuff, slaps some very sick and deranged vocals (the only thing we liked) and claims to make ‘songs’ out of these elements. We will spare you the details and just tell you that if you like normal and structured music you should stay away like from a Tijuana whore with herpes and puss coming out of her face. However, if you like the ‘arts’ and are on a totally different level of consciousness than us (and 99% of the world) go ahead and give “Cor Cordium” a try.
