TYR to tour North America in January 2010

Faroese pagan metal stalwarts TYR have confirmed another tour of North America, set for January of next year. Still riding high on the success of latest NAPALM album By the Light of the Northern Star, TYR will be touring alongside former labelmates KORPIKLAANI as well as WHITE WIZZARD and SWASHBUCKLE. Here are the CONFIRMED dates/venues thus far:

CHILDREN OF BODOM Guitarist To Tour w/ HYPOCRISY!

Legendary Swedish death metal horde HYPOCRISY have enlisted the help of CHILDREN OF BODOM guitarist/frontman Alexi Laiho for their upcoming North American tour. Alexi has agreed to temporarily fill the currently vacant guitarist spot on their tour alongside ENSIFERUM, HYPOCRISY, EX DEO, BLACKGUARD, SWASHBUCKLE. HYPOCRISY mainman Peter Tägtgren commented:

Wilde Starr – Arrival (2009)

Wilde Starr hails from Alameda, California, and the band’s name is taken from the two members last names: London Wilde (vocals and keyboards) and Dave Starr (Guitars and Bass). The band’s sound can easily be compared to Doro with some hints of After Forever.

Featuring over 55 minutes of music “Arrival” is one of the most effective releases I’ve heard this year, and I mean effective in a sense that no minute is wasted in establishing the band into one of the best of the genre. All songs are very well written and are diverse enough to not get bored, but feature elements in common giving the band their signature sound.
