Texan black metal cult BAHIMIRON are currently working on a new album for MORIBUND. Reports drummer Blaash, the band’s as-yet-untitled next album will be a combination of last year’s Southern Nihilizm and the unholy primitivism of VON. Recording will be sporadic throughout the year, with a view to release the album in early 2010 at the very latest. Most recently, Blaash completed some “sloppy, razor-slashin’ drum tracks at Big Door Studios,” with a view to go back in May to put down some bass tracks and perhaps some more drums. As of right now, tentative song titles are “Blind Pain in the Carrion Eye,” “Serpent Blood Anoint My Flesh,” “In the Name of the Blighted,” and “Bladed Inferno,” although all are subject to change, Blaash says.

In other BAHIMIRON news, the licensed vinyl version of Southern Nihilizm will be released imminently by Graveless Slumber Records, and the band are putting the final touches on a split CD with Unchrist, also to be released by Graveless Slumber. For more info, consult and

Mesmerizing black-doom monolith BROWN JENKINS have currently finished writing for their next (and final) album, Death Obsession. The album will be seven tracks and 40-plus minutes, and will also feature artwork by Dennis Dread (Darkthrone, Abscess, Phobia). Reports mainman UA, the music on Death Obsession is “much heavier/darker than Angel Eyes but also catchier, more intense. It combines some of the slowest stuff I've written so far with some of the most abstract/aggressive. The songwriting is also very different...much more technical, I guess. As one would guess [by the title], the focus of the entire LP is simply death.” For more info, consult

The hardest-working man in black metal, DODSFERD mainman Wrath continues his streak of destruction with Suicide and the Rest of Your Kind Will Follow, his second album in less than a year. Slated for release on May 5th, the album is a two-track/33-minute journey into the DODSFERD psyche, Wrath’s bleakest and most desolate record yet. “Epic” is one way to describe it – “mandatory” is the other! Odin has done a fantastic job with the layout, which includes an expanded view of the Gabriel Byrne painting from Merciless Hammer Of Lucifer and live photos of the band. The DVD compiles a live set from the “Assault Of Evil 2008" tour and a photo gallery from a show on the tour. The band’s three music videos are also included as well as a discography and 24 bootleg performances including many DRAWN AND QUARTERED classics.” The band has also recently recorded a track for an upcoming 7" series on Relapse Records, and they also have some exclusive, CDs, vinyls and T-shirts available at

Reports vocalist Eli Elixir, “We are currently pre-producing all the trax for this new CD as with finishing up the writing process in our studio, Satan's Grotto Chamber.  Date is set for entering the studio – 4/29/09 to 5/31/09.  Together, we have been working very diligently with our new ideas, riffs, beats, lyrics, and concepts. After last year’s “Assault of Evil Tour,” we had so many ideas and new theories that we were willing to work into our Metal from Hell...666.

“The newest lineup is working out to be great chemistry. New drummer Evil Little Hobbit is working out well. His archive of authentic beats, from his library in various generations through metal, are very well applied as well as empowering, definitely taking our compositions into a whole new realm of integrity to the Satanic Metal...666. Hail Satan!  In such a short period of time, this newest metal warrior has achieved more than those of the past...great work, evil brother...333.

“Guitar work, as with bass work, for this new CD will be recorded by Patrick Evil. Stellar work, truly that of the greatest guitarist in all generations of metal who have ever been and yet to be in time and history. Leads and riffs are fucking mind-altering and aggressively fueled by the power of Satan! Filled with dark melody and different twisted-spiraling 'Black-Thrash Kaos.' Each track is very unique and different, capturing the wide array of old-school depths and passion in the human soul of darkness.

“Vocals and lyrics by Elixir are very powerful, filled with a wide array of movements and various of octaves and ranges, truly mixing up the melody lines and the tones on these compositions. Lyrics are very enlightening, filled with degrees of Satanic LAW and Poetic Integrity, enrapturing the reader/listener with Luciferian Theorems and Practices, hybriding a dark-fantasy poetic style into each composition, which enables the story to be captured by all the varieties of modes applied on this new CD.  Ave LUCIFER...999.

“We are very prepared for this new ritual, summoning the energies of SATAN through our Will, through our METAL...666.  This will be our fourth CD recorded with Dave Otero and Flatline Audio. We have a shorter timeframe to work in this go-round, so we have and continually are preparing ourselves to go in and unleash our perfected primal powers of LORD SATAN...666!!!” For more info, consult,,, and

Alas, Summoned by Shadows, the very final release by American black metal legends WIND OF THE BLACK MOUNTAINS is “FINALLY getting mixed,” reports drummer Nybras. “We ended up going back to Laud Productions, which works out well since all the other WOTBM albums have been done there. March 23rd marks three years since [founder] Tchort's death and it will be nice to finally have this damn recording done!” For more info, consult
