Returning after 12 years! This band has a certain 'old-school' Gothic Metal vibe that is missing from modern releases.

8.Gone in April – Threads of Existence (2016)

This international collaboration gracefully earns their spot on our list with a very engaging and diverse release that bridges many genres in very intricate ways.

7. Diabulus in Musica - Dirge for the Archons (2016)

As late entry in 2016, this Spanish outfit delivere more orchestration and more dramatic vocal arrangements than before, making this release highly entertaining.

6.Dark Sarah – The Puzzle (2016)

With a brilliant theatrical edge to it, this release stands out from the crowd.
