Ibridoma – Night Club (2012)

cover

Making its way from Italy, today we have Ibridoma and their second full-length release “Night Club”. Playing a very traditional and catchy brand of Heavy Metal with some Power Metal elements, this band delivers eight hard hitting tracks that will have you chanting and headbanging from start to end. If you are a fan of old-school Heavy Metal, this is one of the best releases we have heard this year.

Opening with the epic “Eagles from the Sky”, the guitars start pounding away while the very charismatic vocals of Christian Bartolacci make their presence felt. His vocals reminded us of a mixture of Geoff Tate and Geddy Lee, very firm and well delivered making them one of the flagship elements of the band’s sound. Not only featuring solid vocals, the riffing on “Cold Light of Moon” is also very well crafted, and the drums are nicely crafted to be always present but never overbearing.

The first ‘hit’ of this release has to be the super catchy “Night Club”, this track has a nice old-school vibe with an excellent chorus section. It is very evident that this band has the chops to create very diverse and entertaining songs, and “Seven Days of Death” and “Why Do You Feel Alone” are clear examples of this. None of the songs are similar to each other, providing evidence of the great versatility that Ibridoma brings to the table.

Our favorite track in this release is the intense “Last Supper”. In this song the guitar work is superb and the vocal lines greatly enhance the overall experience. The crazy guitar solos are outstanding, and the overall pace of the song is very well crafted and flows magically. If you like songs with a bigger ‘epic ballad’ feeling, “Businessmen” will surely catch you attention. With outstanding catchiness, this release comes to a close with the very mellow “Face to Face”.

With no dull moments, Ibridoma has managed to craft an excellent release that features excellent compositions and an even more impressive production. “Night Club” is one of those albums that is full of catchy and powerful songs, making it an excellent listening experience and have a very high replay value. Heavy Metal fans should definitely purchase this release and keep an eye for this band in the near future.
