Infernal Masquerade: Hacavitz with “Meztli Obscura” shows consistency and considerable improvement, can you tells us what where you set to create when writing and recoding this album?

Antimo: i think with the new record we had improved ourselves as musicians and songwritters think thats all cause we never like think the way how to compose a riff OR something since the beginning we had worked on the same formula, just straight forward sonic Darkness and somber feelings to imprint in our tunes….

I.M: Having a very raw sound, what are the secrets (in your opinion), behind mixing an album like this in order to sound just right and not to low-fi?

Antimo: well i guess this matter we need to congratulate our sound borrad man who had always helped us in the process of recording and mixing of our albums and records Carlos Padilla (Horner of Inzonic studios, Queretaro, Mexico) as well to have a good rehearsals before recording any material i think and thanks for the flattering comments

I.M: Can you tell us more about the ideas and concepts behind “Meztli Obscura”, also please tell us about the concept of the cover art.

Antimo: the cover artwork were made by Santiago Armengod very good friend of mine and real great barnder and drawer the whole concept in the “Mêtztli Obscura” its kind like a continuatión of our second album “Katun” but not in all forms, its a descripción and visons of the fall of this earth the end of an era thats about to come but with a LOT of anti christian and pagan visions of our past roots and culture…

I.M: The band writes lyrics in several different languages, why do you guys choose to mix them up together and not go with just one language?

Antimo: and tell me why to go with just one language??

I.M: With all the bands that have a similar Death/Black Metal sound, what do you think makes Hacavitz standout from the rest?

Antimo: i dont think we have an original sound OR something similar we are just people who enjoy to perform and taste extreme music but always we try to give a very personal imprint and feeling to our music…

I.M: Any touring planned in support of “Meztli Obscura”? Some USA dates maybe?

Antimo: nothing til now! Hope in a near time Hacavitz rise in anger! And the Moribund cult could help us in a U.S. tour that will be amazing!

I.M: What bands can you say have inspired you to make music? Out of all the modern bands, which ones can you recommend for fans of Hacavitz?

Antimo: theres a LOT of great bands and musicians out there that i can mention! Alot of black and death metal had inspired the music of Hacavitz but in my personal opinion i could say METAL in all kind of forms and genres and subgenres of it, some of the latest i can recommend i would say Ondspakt; Acrimonius, Funebrarum, Ofermod, Orcustus, Craft (always recommended!!!), Disma etc, etc… and speaking from Mexico i could say Infinitum Obscure, Black Torment, Man Destroys Himself, The Pit, Lupus Nocturnus, Strike Master, Denial among other good bands….

I.M: Any future plans of switching up the band style and start playing Metalcore, or something commercially friendly?

Antimo: je not at all! Je i think that you are thinking that we are making this for the money right? Well lets pretend you didnt made this question…

I.M: If you could make a super band with any musicians dead or alive, whom would you pick? and what kind of music would you play?

Antimo: je thats a very good questions i dont know i could say cliff burton, jimmy hendrix, saul martinez and ronnie james dio! To play real and some of the deadliest of the dead HEAVY METAL!

I.M: Anything else you want to add for your fans and our readers?

Antimo: thanks for putting up this interview for Hacavitz and your interest and support! And thanks also to all the readers in Infernal Masquerade!

Thanks for the time and good luck promoting the album.
